Brixham is the quintessential English harbour, with a colourful and vibrant feel all year round, making it as ideal for a summer holiday with the kids as it is for a romantic winter break for two, and in close proximity to the neighbouring Devon resorts of Torquay and Paignton, as well as many other locations on the South Devon coast, it makes a perfect base for exploring the English Riviera.
Here's what trip advisor has to say
You really are spoilt for choice! There's something for everyone in and around the Harbour. Some of our favourites are ...
For breakfast
Le Petit Maison - for a hearty, home cooked traditional style brekkie to set you up for a long coastal walk.
Port Espresso - for great coffee and the breakfast hash.
Lunch
Curious Kitchen is a perfect Brunch or Lunch spot - check out their chicken burrito and for a sweet treat you can't beat their donuts. Trust us on this!
Breakwater Bistro is right on the water and serves Brixham Crab and the best calamari we have had. Takeaway ice cream on the beach is a must.
For a light bite and a drink in the sun with a view of the harbour
The Prince William - our favourite is the baked camembert with honey, walnuts and figs.
Liberty is your spot for cocktails and cake at any time of day.
Fish & Chips
Visit Garry at Brixham Fish for the best
Rockfish also do a great takeaway option.
Dinner
The fish doesn't come much fresher or tastier than at Albero, right on the harbour, you'll usually need to book in advance but it's well worth it
The high street has a Tesco express, Spa and a Co-op for convenience, a fresh fruit and veg shop with stacks of colourful produce out front, Boots, Superdrug, free to use ATM machines, multiple cafes, a nail bar, hair dressers, takeaways and a Costa.
We recommend Brixham Maid on Middle Street for her wonderful homemade jams and Curious Bakery for their freshly baked bread and pastries.
For a more substantial shop Sainsbury's and Asda are a 10 minute car journey away.
